Long ago, plants and animals lived in harmony... until the humans arrived. Unable to coexist with other species, humans mercilessly destroyed everything in their path, forcing fauna and flora into hiding. A run-in with another traveling witch opens her eyes to the harsh reality of traveling solo. The witch, Laminala, vows to teach Pili all she needs to know about survival in a barren land. Oak keeps watch over Pili, even when her worldview needs a major adjustment. She must challenge her own beliefs before she's ready to start her search for Eden in earnest.
