The blue lotus (colorized)

The prepublication of The Blue Lotus ran from August 1934 to October 1935 in Le Petit Vingtième. At that time, the story was still titled The Adventures of Tintin, Reporter in the Far East. In 1936, The Blue Lotus was published by Casterman in a black-and-white edition of 124 plates. The story is considered Hergé’s most accomplished work, both in terms of its plot, illustrations, and research. For the latter, the meeting and friendship between Hergé and Tchang Tchong-jen proved to be of immense importance.
