Ginseng roots

An American Dream story—a Taiwanese immigrant migrates to the US in 1969 and transforms from a poor farmer into “the world’s largest grower, importer, and exporter” of American Ginseng. Now, a self-made millionaire with ties to Presidential administrations and giants of technology and science, he watches Wisconsin’s ginseng industry transition to a majority Mexican migrant labor force, forges connections to Trump’s election campaign, iPhone manufacturing, and finding the cure for cancer.
